Do I have to be a Christian to attend?
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Have you ate at Chick-fil-A or In-N-Out Burger, or ever shopped at Hobby Lobby or a Forever 21 store? Guess what? You were enjoying services from a Christian-based company.
Yes, we are a faith-based, women’s fitness studio, but we welcome women from all walks of life. You can see it amongst our classes and we love that our clientele is so diverse! We have women of different religions or even non-religion that attend our studio, and they all leave our classes feeling uplifted, encouraged, and energized!
Please know that whether you are a Christian woman or not, YOU are welcome at Elevate.
Are there weight limits?
For safety purposes, we have to adhere to the safety ratings on our equipment for bungee and trampoline classes. The weight parameters are as follows:
Bungee fitness: 90-275 lbs
Trampoline fitness: Up to 300 lbs (no minimum)
We definitely do not want to turn anyone away, but your safety is of the utmost importance to us. Therefore, we strictly enforce weight guidelines. There will be no exceptions.
Our Body&Soul classes do not incorporate any equipment with weight-based safety ratings. So if you do not fall within the parameters for bungee or trampoline, please still consider joining us for Strength&Flexibility or Dance Blast!
Is childcare provided?
Childcare is not offered at this time due to limited space.
Can children take classes?
As long as your child is mature enough to participate and follow along, we do not have an age minimum. However, the weight minimum must be met for bungee (90-lb minimum).
What can I expect?
- Expect to have fun while also getting your heart pumping! When you arrive for your pre-booked class (book here), we’ll start by customizing your assigned spot.
- Trampoline Class: Jumpsport trampolines are used in these classes. You will notice your core muscles immediately tighten up as you step onto the trampoline mat. This strengthens your core, improving balance and coordination. As you bounce at your preferred intensity, you’ll be reaping all the other health benefits too, including those for your heart, bones, and lymphatic system… just to name a few. This class is a muscle-toning, sweat sesh that will leave you feeling energized!
- Bungee Class: These classes use equipment from Sling Bungee, the elite bungee fitness equipment provider in the industry. **All bungee equipment is NOT created equal.** We will privately weigh you to customize your bungee station. Once weighed, you’ll be fitted in a harness and attached to bungee cords. Initially, we will lead you through movements to help you navigate movement in the bungee. The bungee cords create resistance that will take regular movements up a notch, challenging your muscles and getting that heart pumping. At the same time, the bungee cords absorb the impact of your movements. The elasticity in the cords allows you to do some crazy fun moves (like burpees, yes, bungee burpees), that we’ll break down for you, step-by-step. This heart-pumping class will take you to new heights. Literally. :)
What do I wear and/or bring to class?
First and foremost, please make sure to be on time for class. Doors open 15 minutes prior to class and are locked at the beginning of class. We do not want to interrupt class for our clients once we begin. It is also important to be dressed appropriately for class to keep comfortable and safe. For both classes, wear a good pair of sneakers (for trampoline, many clients find Pilates socks more comfortable). We also recommend bringing a sweat towel and a water bottle. Be sure to eat at least a few hours before class, but NOT WITHIN AN HOUR OF CLASS. As you can imagine, all the vertical movement in class doesn’t mix well with a belly full of food.
Trampoline class: Women, you’ll want to wear a highly supportive sports bra under whatever you would usually wear for a jogging-type workout.
Men, we recommend wearing something like baseball sliding shorts underneath your workout gear to help keep you comfortable.
Bungee class: Women, again, a highly supportive sports bra is highly recommended. Wearing your hair in a high ponytail/bun will help keep it out of the way of the bungee cords. You’ll want to wear leggings (dark ones help camouflage sweat marks) and a shirt that will cover your mid-section and upper back (during movement the harness can rub here).
Men, you’ll want to wear shorts/sweatpants that go to, at least, right above the knee. Beneath that, you’ll want to wear something like baseball sliding shorts to keep you comfortable.
We do have optional foam padding for the legs and stomach area to help with comfort. Bungee fitness should NOT be uncomfortable.
What if I haven’t worked out in a long time?
Regardless of your level of fitness, there is a class for you at Elevate Fitness. The classes are all low-impact but are high-energy. Clients can always lessen their intensity during class to catch their breath or lower their heart rate. Also, all movements are shown with modifications or alternatives. We want you to challenge yourself but also honor what your body is telling you. In the WellnessLiving App, you’ll see detailed descriptions of our different levels of classes. If a prerequisite class is required, it will be listed in the description. Check out our classes here.
What if I have an injury, am pregnant, or just had a baby?
Before participating, we have you sign a waiver (completed in the Wellness Living). If you are pregnant, we do not allow you to participate in our classes. We’re excited for you, but at this time, do not have the full knowledge to best facilitate prenatal workouts. After you give birth, you can join us once your doctor has cleared you.
If you’ve had any recent surgeries or injuries (new or chronic), we strongly recommend that you speak with your doctor before signing up for a class. Above all else, we want to keep our clients safe, even if it means recommending a fitness program other than Elevate Fitness.
Is this just for fun or am I really working out?
Although loads of fun, our classes are most definitely fitness classes. Your core is a huge focus in both bungee and trampoline classes, along with the cardiovascular benefits. Clients often burn anywhere between 300-500 calories in a class (of course, this can vary).
Do you offer personal training, private group sessions, or parties?
We do offer private group sessions (details listed under offering in our online store).
Please e-mail any inquiries regarding personal training to fly@elevatefitnesshh.com.
Please contact us if you have any additional questions.
